FS Warriors - S.Panthers 40-68 Second ranked Panthers blasted bottom-ranked Warriors (0-4) in Bloemfontein 68-40 on Saturday evening. Warriors is still unable to win any game. Panthers held Warriors to an opponent 21.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Panthers forced 26 Warriors turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Kabelo Kubayi who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Angolan Christian Kabasele (-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Job Mashwabathi (195) produced 9 points and 17 rebounds and Simone Thobela added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panthers have a solid three-game winning streak. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Eagles (2-2) 65-64. Eagles forced 19 Marlins turnovers. The winners were led by Davison Chivero who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and guard Thapelo Mkhatshwa supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Even 23 points by the former international Bandile Nsele (187-91) did not help to save the game for Marlins. Point guard Sibusiso Cele (175) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Marlins' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Eagles moved-up to third place, which they share with WC Mountaineers. Marlins at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
